The False Economy of Water Jet Aspirators
Water jet aspirators can consume and contaminate tremendous amounts of water — as much as 100 gallons an hour — potentially resulting in exorbitant usage and disposal costs. In just one year, a single water jet aspirator can waste and pollute 200,000 gallons of water. A recirculating aspirator might reduce water consumption, but it simply contaminates the same volume of water over and over, causing the same amount of pollution and increasing disposal and treatment costs. Vacuum capacity is also lost as water heats up during recirculation.
