"When I first came to the lab, we were dispensing acids
and buffer solutions from huge carboys into large glass beakers, pouring these
into graduated cylinders to measure the needed amounts, and finally pouring that
into the appropriate sample. Needless to
say, we spilled a whole lot of acid and used a whole lot of gloves during this
process - not to mention the disintegrated lab coats and broken
cylinders/beakers!
We'd used several brands of dispensers over the years for

"We have had a
BrandTech Dispensette here that has lasted at least 15 years that I
know of! It has been used at least 6 times per day, 7 days a week, 365
days a year for 15 years! This is one tough piece of equipment!
When it finally failed, we ordered a replacement immediately. Due
to a snow storm, the replacement took a while to get here and we had to use a
graduated cylinder for dispensing 37% formaldehyde in water. I sure was
glad when the Dispensette arrived; now we are less exposed to the formaldehyde
